The USDA, National Agricultural Statistic Service released the 2024 Crop Production Summary for Minnesota and Iowa.
Corn for grain production in Minnesota for 2024 was estimated at 1.35 billion bushels, down 11 percent from the previous year’s 1.51 billion bushels. Minnesota’s corn for grain yield was estimated at 174.0 bushels per acre.
Iowa corn for grain production was estimated at 2.63 billion bushels, up 4% from the previous year’s 2.52 billion bushels. Iowa’s corn for grain yield was estimated at a record 211.0 bushel per acre.
Minnesota soybean production was estimated at 329 million bushels in 2024, down 6% from last year’s 349 million bushels. The Minnesota soybean crop yielded 45.0 bushels per acre in 2024.
Soybean production in Iowa was estimated at 598 million bushels. This was up 4% from last year’s 573 million bushels. The Iowa soybean crop yielded 60.0 bushels per acre in 2024.
