A Frost man received a stayed prison sentence, credit for jail time served and may serve more jail time on work release after leading police on a chase through Blue Earth in May.
Forty year old Cory Tristan Hansen was convicted on two felony charges for obstructing the legal process and fleeing police in a motor vehicle, a gross misdemeanor for criminal vehicular operation and a misdemeanor for illegal transport of a firearm Monday in Faribault County District Court.
A criminal complaint states an officer sustained a broke foot during the incident on May 13th, which reportedly began when police found Hansen stopped in a roundabout with a firearm on his lap. The officer forced the gun away from him while standing on this vehicle’s running board, at which point Hansen drove away.
The ensuing pursuit lasted eight miles before a County Sheriff’s Deputy collided with Hansen’s vehicle.
Hansen has four felony assault charges against him dismissed.
Court records show he received credit for 99 days served in jail toward a 180 day sentence. He could serve the remainder on work release if he qualifies and sentence to serve work was also ordered.
A one year and one day prison term for him will be stayed for up to five years while he serves probation, according to court records.
