Mapleton Man Suffers Nonlife Threatening Injuries in Motorcycle/Pickup Accident on Tuesday Morning

A Mapleton man was injured in a motorcycle/pickup accident in Mapleton Tuesday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at approximately 7:43am, a 2019 Ford F150, driven by 38 year old Tyler Wayne Hunstad of Mapleton and a 2004 Triumph Daytona motorcycle, driven by 24 year old Michael Gregory Behrends, also of Mapleton, were both traveling northbound on Highway 22, when the two vehicles collided near the intersection of Highway 22 and Blue Earth County Road 7.

Behrends was transported to St. Mary Hospital by Mayo Ambulance with nonlife threatening injuries.  Behrends was wearing a helmet.  Hunstad was not injured.

Assisting at the scene was the Mapleton Fire Department/Police Department/Rescue, Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office and Mayo Ambulance.
