Winnebago Man Dies After Being His By a Car in Fairmont

A pedestrian-motor vehicle accident on Saturday night in Fairmont has claimed the life of a Winnebago man. 

According to a press release from the Fairmont Police Department, at approximately 8:28pm, officers and Mayo Clinic Ambulance were dispatched on a report of a pedestrian had been struck by a motor vehicle in the parking lot in front of Fareway Foods.

The 77 year old victim was transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Fairmont and then immediately airlifted to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Rochester where he passed away as a result of his injuries early Sunday morning.

The vehicle that struck the Winnebago man was driven by a 49 year old man from Truman.  The names of those involved are not being released at this time as the incident remains under investigation.

The Fairmont Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office and Mayo Clinic Ambulance.
