The Blue Earth City Council met on Monday and were presented a housing development proposal from the Housing and Redevelopment Authority and Square Konstruktion of New Ulm.
The proposal is to build a tiny home village on the property of 14th and Moore Streets, across from the Tennis Courts. The site would hold eleven 20×24 residences, with front porches, two 20×24 storage buildings, one 20×24 common kitchen building as well as a 7,500 square foot concrete parking lot. Once complete, the tiny homes would be available to rent from the city.
The total estimated cost for the development was just over $2.3 million.
The council on a 6-1 vote, approved going forward with the proposal so that the HRA can look at all the possible options for financing the project.
