During the primary election on Tuesday, two of the three candidates for Faribault County Commissioner in District 1 advanced to the November 5th General Election. Gertrude Paschke and John Roper will face off in November. Paschke received the most votes with 171, with Roper receiving 113 and Brenda Baldwin finishing third with 66 votes.
Four of the six candidates for Martin County Commissioner advanced themselves to the general election.
Kevin Kristenson, Michael Anderson and Brad Buhmann were on the primary ballot for District 1. Kristenson accounted for 57.63% of the votes and Anderson with 21.61% of the votes, leaving Buhmann with 20.76% of the votes.
The District 5 race included Tyler Ask, Tiffany Nelson and Billeye Rabbe. Results at the end of Tuesday showed that Rabbe had garnered 50.98% of the votes, Ask 37.09% and Nelson just 11.93% of the votes.
The candidates moving forward join District 3 candidates Joe Loughmiller and Michael Schutz, who will appear on the general election ballot.
