B.E. Council Approves Sanitary Sewer and Waste Water Changes as Part of Riverside Annexation

The Blue Earth City Council met on Monday and gave the go ahead to City Engineer Ben Rosol to extend a new sanitary sewer service to the Riverside Heights community and re-route the waste as part of an annexation project.

There were also some slight changes approved for the new Putnam Park Tennis Courts to change the height of the fencing to allow spectators unobstructed viewing of matches and install posts for a backboard at the northeast corner of the courts.

A public hearing was also held and the council passed a resolution for the preliminary approval of $1 million in general obligation capital improvement bonds.

The Council also agreed to cover 50 percent of the $21,500 estimate to repair and repaint the Giant statue and approved New Chances Humane Society’s application for a kennel license.
