On Monday, the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service released the Crop Progress Report for Minnesota and Iowa for the week ending August 27th.
In Minnesota, corn in the dough stage reached 94%, dent stage was 51% and the crop began to mature at 2%. Corn condition was rated 44% good to excellent.
Iowa’s corn was 96% in the dough stage, dent stage was 62% and 6% of the state’s corn crop had reached maturity. Corn condition was 54% good to excellent.
Minnesota’s soybeans reached 97% setting pods, 25% were reported turning color, with 3% dropping leaves. Soybean condition was 49% good to excellent.
In Iowa, soybeans setting pods reached 97%, 15% were turning color with reports of leaves dropping. Soybean condition was 53% good to excellent.
