Tuesday’s night’s Blue Earth City Council meeting was a quick and efficient affair with a light agenda.
City Attorney David Frundt provided a 2nd reading of an amended chicken ordinance, which was unanimously approved by the Council. Frundt also presented the 1st draft of an agreement with the Baseball Association regarding field mowing. The Council approved the draft and Frundt said the agreement will be forwarded to the baseball association for their signature or, if they request amendments, will head back to the Council for another look.
The Council also finalized an agreement with the Faribault County Humane Society which will provide the organization with a $500 monthly payment to ensure that once their building is open and ready, the city will be guaranteed space will be available to meet the City’s needs. In addition to the monthly payment, any city impounded animals will be billed at $20 per day for dogs and $5 per day for cats.
The next meeting of the Blue Earth City Council will be Tuesday, July 5th.
