Corn emergency was at 97%. Corn condition was rated 1% very poor, 2% poor, 32% fair, 53% good and 12% excellent.
Soybean planted was 97% complete. Soybean emergence was at 83%, 21 days behind last year and 8 days behind the five year average. Soybean condition was 1% very poor, 2% poor, 33% fair, 54% good and 10% excellent.
Topsoil moisture supplies were rated 1% very short, 6% short, 76% adequate and 17% surplus.
In Iowa, the USDA says that most of the state saw little rainfall and above average temperatures for last week, resulting in 5.2 days suitable for fieldwork.
Corn condition rating was 83% good to excellent.
Soybeans are 93% emerged, 6 days behind last year but 3 days ahead of average. Iowa’s soybean condition was rated 80% good to excellent.
Topsoil moisture supplies were rated 3% very short, 17% short, 74% adequate and 6% surplus.
