The public is being asked to help find those responsible for over $30,000 in vandalism at Fountain Lake Park.
The Albert Lea Police Department says officers responded to a report of damage at Fountain Lake Park, at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Lakeview Boulevard at about 7am on April 3rd. Police say the damage was discovered to streetlights, sidewalk marker lights, an electrical panel, gazebo landscaping and stadium seating marker lights.
Investigators say the vandalism likely was done two to three days before it was found, given the favorable weather conditions.
The Albert Lea Parks and Recreation Department has started repairs and Police are conducting extra patrols in the park to deter further incidents.
The Albert Lea Police Department is asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in Fountain Lake Park between April 1st and April 3rd, or who has any information related to the incident, to contact them immediately.
