The Faribault County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday and received an update from County Engineer April Wellman on the upcoming projects in the county.
Commissioner Bruce Anderson said one item the board had to take up was accepting the bid for gravel crushing. The lowest bid was Ulland Bros at a cost to the county of $389,900 which is a bit over the $370,000 that was budgeted.
The county also got approval for federal funding for County Highway 17 from Frost to the state line, with that project getting started this summer.
Anderson says the are putting some rumble strip in across the county near stop signs where there is a safety concern.
Wellman also informed the board that the county will be getting three new tandem trucks with the plow equipment this year and the shouldering machine is coming this week from Missouri.
