B.E. Council Holds First Meeting at New City Hall

The Blue Earth City Council held their first meeting in the new Blue Earth City Hall on Monday.

City Engineer Ben Rosol updated the council on the progress on the proposed $1.652 million five unit T Hanger at the Blue Earth Municipal Airport.

Rosol shared that federal grant money will cover 97.5% of the cost which amounts to $1.569 million of the cost, with the State and City covering $1.25% of the remaining cost, or $41,300 each.

The council voted to proceed with the project and calling for bids for the construction.

The Council also approved an amendment to City Administrator Mary Athey’s employment contract that extends her contract for another three years to go through July 2028.  The amendment also increases the number of months an administrator would be paid after a termination of employment from four to six.
