The Blue Earth City Council received an update on the future Linton Street Project from City Engineer Ben Rosol on Monday.
Rosol said the planning stages continue to move forward and that the City is well positioned to receive two possible grants to help fund the project.
However, waiting to see if the city would receive these grants means the start of the project could possibly be delayed s it depends on whether the state legislature passes a bonding bill this session.
Of the two grants, one would be for $530,000 on the water side of the project and the other for $640,000 would be for the street portion of the project. The grants would contribute $1.1 million to the project’s cost, which is estimated to be just under $3.4 million.
The council passes a motion to follow the engineer’s recommendation and see if the city gets the funding before starting the Linton Street Project.
