A Fairmont man was arrested Thursday in Mankato on a felony drug charge for possessing nearly 3 grams of methamphetamine.
Mankato Police say Dillon Dougherty of Fairmont is charged with 5th Degree Drug Possession in Blue Earth County District Court. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both.
According to the criminal complaint, Mankato Police observed a vehicle parked underneath a bridge. Officers approached the vehicle and spoke to a female in the driver’s seat about parking there, the female indicated she did not have a valid driver’s license. The passenger, later identified as Dougherty, got out of the vehicle to switch spots so he could drive. As he was doing this, officers observed a bubble pipe with a white residue. Dougherty later state he had meth on his person. Officers found a sandwich bag with approximately 2.85 grams of suspected meth.
