The Faribault County Board of Commissioners met for the final time in 2024 on Tuesday and set the budget and levy for 2025.
The truth in taxation hearing had more residents attending that in previous years. Commissioner Greg Young said many of them were upset that the evaluations on their property went up considerably from the previous year.
After the hearing, Young says that the Board certified the 2025 levy and budget. The board set the levy at a 4.46% increase for a total of $15.9 million. The budget for next year will be just over $26.2 million.
