B.E. Council Reaches Contract Agreement With Police Department

The Blue Earth City Council met on Monday and went into a closed session to discuss the labor negotiations with the Police Department.

Mayor Rick Scholtes says they were able to reach an agreement on a three year contract, with a 3% increase in pay each year of the contract.

Scholtes says the agreement keeps officers compensated at a decent level and the increase keeps the Officers pay competitive.

The Council also passed the request of the Blue Earth Fire Department Relief Association to receive an increase of $100 for every year of service to go to retirement benefits.
