Tuesday Election Results From Area Cities

Three council member at large seats were up for grabs in Blue Earth last night, with the incumbents keeping their seats.

Michael McNerney led the way with 1,240 votes, Stephanie Walter collected 896 and John Huisman had 806 votes to claim the final open spot. Lawrence Berg finished fourth with 669 votes.

In Fairmont there were 4 available seats on the city council. Claiming the at large bid was Britney Kawecki getting 44 percent of the vote.

Ward 2 went to James Kotewa claiming 43 percent of the vote, with Amber Hansen and Jodie Whitmore collecting 29 and 27 percent respectively .

Randy Lubenow won in Ward 3 with 489 votes, second was Terry Riggs with 270, Tom Winter was third with 118 and finishing fourth was Edward Paschke with 62 votes.  

The 4th Ward in Fairmont was won by Wayne Hasek claiming 58 percent of  vote compared to Todd Smith’s 41 percent.

Fairmont residents were also asked if the City should impose a sales and use take of one-half of one percent to be used to build a community center and ice arena in the city. The measure failed with 3,395 no votes compared to 1,597 that voted yes.   

Elmore will have new Mayor in 2025 as current Mayor Clara Vereide did not seek re-election and Zachary Dahl defeated Michael Schutta 151 to 79 votes..

Winning the two open seats on the Elmore city council were, Dave Davis with 121 votes and Betty Myhrom with 118.

John Goette will be the mayor of Bricelyn defeating Douglas Ellickson 118 to 51 votes.

Winning the open city council seat in Easton was Anthony Stevermer beating John Rath by 11 votes 95 to 84.

Winnebago had two seats open on the city council finishing first was Chris Anderson with 378 votes, second was Tony O’Donnell with 259 and third was Jane Sybrandt.

Frost also had 2 seats open on their city council with three individuals seeking those positions. Lee Lincoln had 91 votes, Matt Gullord with 80 and finishing third was Patricia Boman with 28 votes.

Winning Mayoral seats in Ceylon was Judith Perkins, Tucker Schumann in Sherburn, Trimont was Kevin Kuehl and Dan Schmidtke in Welcome.
