Two Injured in Two Vehicle Accident North of Blue Earth on Friday Morning

A woman and young boy from Winnebago were injured in a two vehicle crash on Highway 169, north of Blue Earth on Friday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at approximately 7:58am, a 2012 Toyota Rav4, driven by 22 year old Isabella Ann Nelson of Winnebago, was southbound on Highway 169 and had stopped for a school bus, when a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan, driven by 32 year old Kelly Ann Unger of Winnebago, was also heading southbound failed to stop and rear-ended Nelson’s vehicle.

Unger and one of her passengers, 11 year old Jayden William Shields, of Winnebago, were both transported to UHD in Blue Earth, with nonlife threatening injuries.

Nelson and the other passenger in Unger’s vehicle 8 year old Riley Jace John Unger were not injured.

The Blue Earth Fire Department, Blue Earth Police Department, UHD Ambulance, Winnebago Ambulance and the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
