B.E. Council Approves Bid for Water Treatment Facility Improvements

The Blue Earth City Council met on Monday and received the bid evaluation for the water treatment facility improvements.

Six bids were received ranging between $16.6 million and $25.2 million.  The lowest bid of $16.6 million was from Wapasha Construction of Winona.  After discussion, the council approved accepting the low bid.

The contract would be awarded depending on the receipt of the final financing package from the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority, including a combination of DRWF loans and eligible grant financing, which would help by covering up to $12 million of the total cost of the project.
