USDA Says MN Soybean Harvest is Complete and MN’s Corn, Iowa’s Soybeans and Corn Nearly Complete

The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service released the crop progress report for Minnesota and Iowa for the week ending October 27th.  Harvest was winding down and some fall small grain seeding was underway.  Fall tillage and fertilizer applications continued.

Minnesota corn harvested for grain reached 84%, 9 days ahead of last year and 12 days ahead of the 5 year average.  Moisture content was averaging 16%.

Iowa’s corn harvested for grain reached 84% complete statewide, almost a week ahead of last year and 12 days ahead of the five year average.  South central Iowa farmers still have 35% of their corn for grain remaining to harvest, while farmers have already harvested 91% in north central Iowa.  Moisture content of field corn being harvested was 14%.

Minnesota soybean harvest is now complete and Iowa’s soybean harvest was nearly complete at 96%.
