The Faribault County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday and at the meeting, Sheriff Mike Gormley and Chief Deputy Scott Adams addressed the board with Sheriff’s Office business.
Commissioner Tom Loveall said this update was bitter sweet as it was announced that Sheriff Gormley was retiring after 18 years as Sheriff. The County Board then passed a resolution accepting his retirement.
Commissioner Loveall added that the board appreciates Gormley’s service to the county and how well he has put together a team that has worked well with the board and the for the county and congratulates him on his retirement.
After Gormley’s announcement Loveall says there was another resolution to pass to appoint Chief Deputy Scott Adams as Interim Sheriff. Adams has been Chief Deputy for 17 years and will take over as Interim Sheriff on January 26th, where he will serve out the remainder of Gormley’s term that ends in 2026.
