A rural Winnebago woman is dead following an ATV rollover east of Winnebago on Wednesday morning.
At approximately 11:14 am, the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene of the accident and determined that a 2021 Polaris Ranger, driven by 68 year old Retha Rasmussen was northbound on 375th Ave, when the Ranger exited the roadway to the left and began to roll, coming to rest on the passenger side.
Authorities say that Rasmussen was ejected from the Ranger and was lying in the ditch. Rasmussen was transported into Winnebago to meet the Mayo Helicopter. Rasmussen later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead by the Mayo Flight Crew.
Assisting the Sheriff’s Department at the scene were the Winnebago Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Winnebago Fire Department and Winnebago Ambulance.
