Concerns Raised at B.E. Council Meeting Regarding A New Data Center Being Built

At Monday’s Blue Earth City Council meeting, a resident of Blue Earth voice her concerns during the public comment portion about a new data center being built in the city.

Hosu Chang listed concerns over the huge amount of electricity that is going to be used, the large amount of water that will be used and the amount of noise generated by the hum of the electronics inside the building.

She felt that the new data center could mean higher utility rates for residents.

Before the meeting came to a close, Councilman John Huisman suggested having Blue Earth Light and Water Manager Tim Stoner attend a future City Council meeting to answer some of those questions and concerns.
