The Blue Earth City Council met on Monday and Tom McCone, from Brunton Construction, proposed a change order for the City Hall Project.
During the demo phase of the project, it was discovered that the exterior, as well as the interior walls of the building had zero insulation. With the goal of making the building more energy efficient, changes to the renovation would need to take place.
Those changes would consist of demolition of existing furring walls, insulating, framing, sheet rocking and taping the walls. Other changes that would need to be done, include moving one roof drain riser to a new location in the wall, insulating new roof drain piping and testing the new roof drain piping.
With the material and labor, the amount requested was for $76,809.14. The Council unanimously approved the changes.
In other business, the Council made the following approvals, a transient merchant application for Koum n Go, an Asian cuisine food truck, the hiring of Justin Bruellman in the Public Works Department and approved the event request for Riverside Town and Country Club to hold Riverpalooza at the Faribault County Fair Grounds.
