Fieldwork Limited in MN & Iowa Last Week Due to Rain and Flooding Says USDA

The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service released the crop progress report for Minnesota and Iowa for the week ending June 30th.  Field activities were limited due to rain and flooding throughout much of the region.

In Minnesota, corn silking was at 3%, 4 days ahead of the 5 year average, 62% of corn was rated good to excellent.  Iowa corn was 4% silking, 4 days ahead of average and 73% of corn was rated good to excellent.

Soybeans in Minnesota are 97% emerged and 19% blooming with 62% of beans rated good to excellent.  In Iowa, soybeans were 19% blooming with 72% rated good to excellent.
