North Mankato Man Dies After Motorcycle He Was Riding Struck a Deer North of Winnebago Friday Night

A motorcyclist has died after the motorcycle he was riding struck a deer.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 39 year old Chase James of North Mankato was southbound on Highway 169, at milepost 25 when his Harley-Davidson struck a deer just before 10:40 Friday night near Winnebago.  The State Patrol said James was taken to the Blue Earth hospital with life threatening injuries.  James succumbed to those injuries and died on Saturday.

The report stated he was not wearing a helmet.
