A delegation of Senators will be in the area Thursday morning. The group, led by Capital Investment Committee Chair Senator Sandy Pappas and Vice Chair Senator Susan Pha, will make stops in Blue Earth, Fairmont and Lewisville. The three cities are seeking funding from the state for projects to benefit their respective communities.
The group will stop in Fairmont first, where the city is asking for $10 million to help construct a regional community center that focuses on initiatives to improve health, educational attainment and human welfare in the local community and the southern Minnesota region.
The second stop will be at the Water Treatment Facility in Blue Earth. The City of Blue Earth is requesting $8.6 million in funding for the design, construction and administration of improvements to the existing drinking water system.
The third and final stop in the area will be in Lewisville, where the city is asking for $9 million in funding for sewer, water and road replacement.
The delegation of Senators will be in Fairmont around 7:45am, Blue Earth around 8:50am and in Lewisville around 10:10am on Thursday morning.
