Semi Accident Near Winnebago Injures an Estherville Man

An accident on Monday afternoon involving a semi-tractor trailer sent an Estherville man to the hospital with minor injuries.

 

The Faribault County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched just after 1pm, to 175th Street, near 335th Ave, southwest of Winnebago.  When they arrived, they found a jack-knifed semi in the ditch, resting against the trees near the Blue Earth River.  The truck was loaded with fertilizer at the time of the accident.

 

The driver, 70 year old Charles Longman, was out of the semi, he was taken to the United Hospital in Blue Earth for treatment.

 

Assisting at the scene were the Minnesota State Patrol, Winnebago Public Safety, Winnebago Fire Department, Winnebago Ambulance, Blue Earth Fire Department, Faribault County Public Works Department, Erosion Control of Winnebago and Ron’s Trenching of Winnebago.
